volunteering

engaged with the local communities

As one of the pillars of Chevron Way, our Volunteer Program has the mission of building solid relationships with the communities through the engagement of the company and our workforce in volunteer activities.

Our Solidary Energy program has a collaborative and structure support mechanism for social actions, identifying local demands and proposing solutions.

Since it was implemented in 2011, the Solidary Energy Program has already carried out voluntary actions with communities benefited by social projects supported by Chevron Brasil. Among the initiatives, there are lectures by volunteers for young students from public schools and donation of school supplies which included backpacks and notebooks.

Another initiative was the donation of 200 personal hygiene kits to mothers and fathers of hospitalized children at the Martagão Gesteira Childcare and Pediatrics Institute (IPPMG), located on the campus of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The action also included the visit of Chevron employees to the university hospital to donate blood and bring solidarity to children and their family members served by the unit – most of whom live in communities close to the institute, such as Maré.
